Arriving at the chestnut forests of the Cantal… you have already reached the South… , the granite stones become blond, the softness of the climate and curves of the landscape suggest the closely related influences of the Lot and the Aveyron.

Historical sites

Marcolès, as well as Montsalvy, Laroquebrou … are charming preserved historic villages, located all around Concasty, in the heart of the chestnut woodlands of the Cantal.

Some proudly display their label « small towns of character » and there you can see the careful preservation of these small medieval wonders, where the future is enriched by the past. Others extend their influence and recognition by inventing and hosting lively Summer festivals…

Beyond the Châtaigneraie, you will find many castles, the Treasure of Conques, the medieval city of Salers, Figeac, Rocamadour… discover, visit, learn, taste all in the proximity of Concasty and as everyone likes to say it : « The region changes every 20 kms! »

 

An introduction to the treasures of our area :

Cantal is also the site of one of the oldest volcanoes where buildings constructed from volcanic rock rise austere and majestic.
